Happy Spring Everyone!
As you know, Jim and I live in the small town of
Barnum, Mn. While Jim is away fixing barns, I have
been busy cleaning up the yard and planting my
flowers! The town's annual Spring Fever Days is
coming, June 12 - 15th, have to get the place looking
nice! Many activities in our town during that
weekend include the crowning of Miss Barnum, the
big parade, flea market, car show, fishing contest,
kid's fun and activities in our town park, steak fry,
bands, and alot more! If you're in the area that

It sure has been raining an awful lot up here in the
past week, seems like the sun may not shine until next
week! And the mosquitoes sure made an appearance!
They're everywhere! Yuk! I read on the internet
about a home made remedy for mosquito repellant.
You mix equal parts of Listerine (the amber colored)
and water in a spray bottle and spray on the areas
where you want to keep the buggers away from. It
may stain certain woods so use caution they say, but
it won't hurt you, your pets, or plants! I think I will
give it a try. Don't know if it works until you try it! I
also found the if you dab pure vanilla on your pulse
points, it'll keep them away too, plus it will make you
smell good to those you want around you! Think I'll
try that too. Mosquito's just seem to love me. Always
have. Jim says that's one reason he takes me with
him fishing and such, I keep the mosquito's away
from him! Funny man my husband!
